Meet Avan Jogia and Maddie Hasson, two of ABC Family’s newest stars. Their upcoming show Twisted follows Jogia’s 16-year-old character (Danny Desai) who heads home five years after supposedly killing his aunt. While trying to fit back in at school, he reconnects with childhood pal Jo Masterson, played by Hasson.
While it’s too early to tell if these two will lock lips on the small screen, we caught up with the co-stars at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday and got the scoop on their first kisses, in real life.
Jogia revealed: “I was in 8th grade and I skipped gym class. There was this attic above the gym class where you could watch everyone. We just went up there and made out. I made fun of them as they tried to look for us and I was like, ‘Nah, you can’t catch us.’”
Hasson’s experience was slightly less scandalous: “My first kiss was at camp,” she said. “I think it was in the 7th grade at spin the bottle with my biggest crush.”
And, she never got her man. “No, he’s still out there,” she said.
When I pointed out that she’s the one now standing at a big fancy awards show, she quipped: “Well, one of us wins.”
Jogia also told us what to look for on the show in June, when the show premieres. “There’s sports! There’s sports and there’s a really big fight,” he said. “There’s some guy elements there.”
Twisted premieres on ABC Family on June 11, 2013.
